The Denis & Sue Rehse Page
"Bub Stuff" - Fall/Winter 2003
WHAT'S NEW
The big news over the summer was that we both changed jobs. Sue's company closed after 17 years in business (she was there for 14), so she got to take the month of July off to collect unemployment and figure things out. She has now gone to work for one of the former partners at an all-new creative advertising company. The Cedar Knolls location is great and everything is going extremely well! Denis also decided it was time to move on, and left Tekmar Sales. He is now working for the Jilson Group in Lodi, becoming a product expert on high end casters - so you could say his career is on a roll!
TRAVELS
Over Thanksgiving, we took a ride out to Lancaster, PA. The weather was terrible the first day but improved considerably for the remainder of the trip. Aside from a few carriages, an Amish family enjoying dinner at a Chinese buffet, and two teen Amish girls at the Hershey Bears hockey game (with non-Amish boys), we didn't see much Pennsylvania Dutch culture in the land of outlet malls. But we had a really nice getaway - the shopping was fun, the hockey game was great, Hershey Park was festive, and the ping-pong matches at the hotel were pretty intense - we even had a group of kids cheering us on!

THE BW&BK FESTIVAL, CLEVELAND, OH, 6/03
Sue and her brother Tom decided to go on a headbanging adventure that turned out to be a very memorable event. The headliners were Trouble and Candlemass, and other highlights included Nevermore, the worldwide debut of Hank Shermann & Michael Denner's new band Force of Evil, Jag Panzer, and Sue's big new favorite, Abdullah. In addition to three long nights of pure horns-up, oldschool-style heavy metal, the Nolz siblings got a chance to check out the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Alice Coopers'town, and spent some time with Jeff from Abdullah who showed us around a bit. We'll never forget the 'Candlemass karaoke', the outstanding performance of Trouble (and Sue getting to meet them), the parking odysseys, hearing Swedish spoken at breakfast, running into Leif and Messiah and the Wolf guys in the hotel (and Evergrey everywhere else including the flight home), and the overall great feeling of being amongst our metal brethren for a very special event.
MOVIE RANTS 'n' RAVES
The Movies We Love (And Why)
It's true, we both love mostly the same movies. Find out why The Legend of Bagger Vance is not about golf; and the Cameron Crowe fixation explained. (There is no explanation for the Kevin Smith fixation, so don't look for it  here.)  Which trilogy floats your boat - Star Wars? The Matrix? Lord of the Rings? We love 'em all! Check out our (almost) complete MOVIE LIST/REVIEW PAGE!

New Cameron Crowe Movie Is Underway
Don't know all that much about it yet, but it's called
Elizabethtown and it's a classic Cameron ensemble film with elements of romance, comedy, drama, lots of music and of course well-developed characters that he promises we'll fall in love with. Names thus far attached to the film are Jane Fonda and Kirsten Dunst (Ashton Kutcher dropped out). The movie will be released in 2004.
