Fudgy Brownies

1/2 cup flour
36 packets Equal sweetner
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
6 TBS butter
4 oz unsweetened chocolate
1/3 cup milk
1/3 cup unsweetend apricot preserves
1 egg yolk
1 tsp vanilla
3 egg whites
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
1/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

A Regular Guys Recipe

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.  Combine flour, salt, sweetener and baking powder and set aside. 

Heat butter, chocolate, milk and apricot preserves in a small saucepan whisking frequently.  Remove from heat when chocolate is almost melted and continue whisking until chocolate is compeltely melted and blended.

Whisk in egg yolk and vanilla.  Blend in the flour mixture. 

In a large bowl beat egg whites and cream of tartar until stiff peaks are formed.  Fold the chocolate mixture into the egg whites.  Fold in walnuts.

Pour batter into a greased 8-inch square baking pan.  Bake until brownies are firm and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean -- about 18 - 20 minutes.  Do not overbake.

Cool on wire rack and then cut into bars.
