If you take I-90 and head east from Seattle and drive about an hour and a half through the Cascade Range and the Snoqualmie National Forest you will come to the little town of Roslyn -- better known to televison viewers as the fictional town of Cicely, Alaska in the series "Northern Exposure."

The series is over, but the show has a cult following and people still come to see locations that have been kept the same as they were seen during the series.  This photo was taken from the front of Dr. Fleishman's office.  Ruth Ann's General Store is across the street by the white van.

The Brick was Cicely's primary social gathering place.  It is Actually Washington's oldest operating saloon.  You won't find Holling and Shelly there any more, but you can drop in for a beer.  If you can't get there in person, visit their website, thebricktavern.com

The studios of radio station KBHR.  As you look into the window you can almost hear Chris musing on the mystery of life.   If you are a Northern Exposure fan and want to know more about the series and it characters visit the
"Moose's Guide to Northern Exposure."

By the way, this is not the only fictional TV town in the area.  About half an hour before you came to Rosyln on I-90 you passed the town of North Bend where the series "Twin Peaks" was filmed.
