The Pike Place Market is one of Seattle's top attractions. Located downtown at Pike Street and First Ave. It descends several levels to the waterfront where you will find an aquarium and many other attractions. The market is loaded with interesting gift and art shops. |

Of course the main thing at the Market is food and there is plenty of it. You will find many great stands featuring really fresh and ripe fruits and vegetables. |

Seafood is king in Seattle and this seafood stand is world known, not just because of the great fresh fish but also because of the show the fish sellers put on as they shout out order and throw whole salmon and other fish back and forth. You can order fish online -- just click HERE. |

If all that fresh seafood makes you hungry, there are some great restaurants at the Market. Our favorite is Lowells. They have a great view of the harbor, entertainment in the evening and low prices. This seafood platter for two included salmon, halibut, squid, fried oysters, shrimp, clams and mussles for just $24. |

Right inside the main entrance you will find the Market mascot, Rachel the huge bronze piggy bank. Barb joined the millions of people who have stopped by to pet Rachel and make a little donation. Money deposited in this piggy bank is used to assist needy families in the waterfront area. |

This is one thing you won't see at the Pike Place Market -- the original Starbucks. Starbucks began here in 1972 and has grown worldwide. You will find Starbucks coffee bars all over Seattle, but the originial is gone now. |
