Glory's Holiday House is the redwood house at the top of this picture. It is located at 3330 Ingelow Street in the Point Loma section of San Diego which is at the north end of San Diego Bay, just five minutes from the airport and 10 minutes from downtown (see map). Below is an interior shot of the great room in the house.
Right adjacent to the great room is the patio with a wonderful pool and fountain.
At night, the fountain converts into a hot tub. Dave loved that!
Breakfast is served on the balcony overlooking the harbor. It always begins with a large assortment of fresh California fruit followed by a different gormet treat every day such as: strawberry crepes, eggs benedict with smoked salmon, wonderful omlettes, home made coffee cake, carmelized apple pancakes and more. It's a great way to start the day! Poor Peg, she got stuck with the only seat without a view!
While you are eating breakfast (or any other time of day) you can watch the ships come and go from San Diego Bay. This is the Aircraft Carrier U.S.S. Stennis heading out to sea. During our visit we also saw a wide variety of other war ships, cargo carriers, luxury liners and fishing and pleasure boats.
This is Glory -- a great hostess! Take it from the Regular Guys, this place rates five stars in our book. The accomodations, food, location and affordable price make this the place to stay in San Diego!
