After a few years with a band Bit's & Pieces  while Reg was recording Vietnam In Focus. Reg met Heather Smith and not long after we lost our bass player I decided to form a new band called Cross Country which was in 1999, with Heather Smith vocals and keyboard. Reg Meffert vocals and guitars. Heather is a kiwi  and  has song's that have now been recorded on Beyond The Border , namely " The Bushmen " and the " Bush Bashers Ball "
Reg a Vietnam Veteran has written and recorded the CD  "Vietnam In Focus"  with songs that reflect the experiences of that time and after the war, hoping to inform and educate many that did not understand what went on. At the moment we are working on another album to follow up titled " Vietnam In Focus 2 " with all original songs.
Cross Country has performed at many festivals and fundraisers ,Gawler Band Festival 2006, Veterans Day  ( Long Tan )2000,2001,2002 ,2003. Riverland Run Renmark 2002 . Carols by the sea Glenelg 2003 .

2006 saw the band start touring in the
Cross Country Bus, the first was over the Yorke Peninsula with a New Year show at Balgowen being the highlight, 6 day's on the road as a shakedown tour, from Pt Victoria to Pt Broughton. Also had a great time in Walleroo, where we just had time to drop a line in and  Adelaide  to Port Augusta.
2006 Easter was a little longer, 11 day's starting at Morgan  finishing at Goolwa where they did two gigs at the RSL, one being in remembrance for the downed Sea King Helicopter, Wellington was a packed house for the Line Dancers and a lot of fun into the early hours of the morning. After playing for the first time at the Port Pirie Fest , we ran a show at the NCMA in August . Semaphore RSL and the Grenville centre at Elizabeth are other fun nights where we run the dance partys. For the first time we  visited Mlidura Country Festival, playing at a vinyard in Mildura South. Also performing at the Barmera fest  and Southern Flinders Fest . Port Pirie 2008.   Hoping to be heading through NSW  and Queensland  late 2008 to meet new country music fans and seeing the country.   As Willie say's "On The Road Again"
Reg's song "The Picture On The Mantle" recorded by Craig Giles Was Nominated in the top 5 Contemporary Country Song of the year 2008. Attending Tamworth for the awards was a great pleasure.
