Dear Singers:
On January 22, 2005, our choir had the adequate support of our members meeting the quorum of the All Members General Meeting.
1. Members re-visited the November 6, resolution ,
Given the circumstances that we are not successful to invite
a new conductor to lead us, following Resolution 2003-2 from
our AMGM in Nov 7, 2003:
"That the Regina Chinese Singers be dissolved if there is no new conductor recruited by September 30, 2004. Furthermore, the Executives are charged with the responsibility to establish a plan for dissolution before the year end of 2004, and the completion of dissolving the choir by June 30, 2005."
Decision:
Based on our difficulty , all members supported the resolution with the hope that when resource and talents are available, a new choir may re-start again.
2. Along with the members present, the Executives had exercised the judgement to start dissolving the choir and settled all cash and non cash assets.
3. On March 5, a wrap up party was organized and 39 members and spouse
participated in the event. RCS was formally dissolved.
