| Did another farkle the other day, that I'd been meaning to get to.
Was a bit worried about some of the things I've read on the net about the 1150RT and the 1200RT mirrors falling off. The fix is pretty cheap and easy and only takes less than half an hour. I used 30lb fishing leader that I had in my tackle box. Its only cheap and you can buy it in K-Mart. The holes are already there so was easy. I started off with 30cm length, then I made them fairly short so they don't dangle too far down. I cut off the excess afterwards. If you do it, attach the wire to the bike first and then the mirror. The first one I did the other way round and it was hard to get it through the hole on the bike. I used the farthest side away to attach it to so that if it did pop out it would hopefully keep it away from the fairing. The left hand mirror I had to grip with a bit of old inner tube rubber to get it to pop out. The right hand one just came away in my hand with a slight tug and no rubber so that was a fairly loose fit (bit of a worry). |

| Pop the mirror out of its holder. Just give it a (gentle) whack with the palm of your hand. If that doesnt do it, get a piece of old innertube to give you grip (remember to catch it and put blankets on the ground first (just in case)). | |||||||||||

| I attached the leader to this hole here. Remember though that I found it easier (after doing this one) to attach the leader to the bike first and then the mirror. | |||||||||||

| I attached the leader to the bottom hole and then shortend it before crimping the holder of the wire. | |||||||||||
