My journey down the transition path led me to Montral, Canada,
for my reassignment surgery. Dr.
Yvon Mnard performed my surgery on March 31st, 2003. I am extremely happy with the results of his work. My experience in Montral was very emotional, heartwarming, and positive. I would recommend going there for anyone considering SRS.
The story of my SRS in Montral, while remarkable for me, is not
intended to be an endorsement of their work, or the excellent post-op care provided at the residence. There are good and bad stories about every SRS surgeon. There are risks associated with any surgery, especially one of this magnitude. One cannot go into this life altering situation without having supreme confidence in the doctor performing this procedure. It is my belief that anyone considering SRS should leave no stone unturned. No question or concern is trivial. The more informed you are about the available surgeons and the entire aspects of this operation, the more likely it is that you will experience pleasing results.
Okay, I admit I look a little rough around the edges. But hey, give me a break.....I just had major surgery!!
