The Last Paul Fig Interview
An Interview With Paul Fig (Amen)
Sadly, this interview was Paul Figs last as a member of Amen. The guitarist left due to a difference in opinions regarding the recording of their third album, And has joined a band called The Abolishment.  This interview is a testament to his raw talent, and shows that punk will never die. Good luck Paul.

(Reid) How far are you guys with the new album?
(Paul) We are almost half way with the recording, everything is moving pretty quick.

What will it sound like?
The new songs are pretty amazing Casey wrote about a hundred songs, so we have a lot of different dynamics to choose for the record... but definitely AMEN

Any idea of a release date?
This record should definitely be ready for you Feb, or March.

Whats the score with amen and queens (of the Stone Age)?
The score would be that we both have mutual friends and we both highly respect each others music.

Can we expect a joint tour soon or even a joint album?
Hmmm... We tried to put a queens, at the drive in, amen tour together, but it never really panned out. A Joint album??? All those peeps on the same recording? I don't know... I would love to record with the queens.

Given the current situation (especially in the US and the UK), do you think we could be heading towards a new punk/hardcore movement?
This is the perfect climate for amazing music to happen, will it be punk/hardcore I just
don't know, but it will definitely be honest.

Do you think we are seeing a hardcore revolution?
I don't think we are seeing it just yet, but things are about to break...

Does politics affect your music?
Politics usually do something to bands, especially when it affects the music community livelihood oppression, depression, recession, republicans in office.

Finally, someone told me that if I ask you kindly enough, amen will play a free
show in my back garden. Is this true (joke)?

I guess that would depend if we were in the neighborhood or not (not a joke).
