| The Fire and the Snow Beauty The snow falls through The gentle lamplight And onto the icy streets. I watch this in the dark Stillness of the night, Waiting, hoping for you To rescue me from this Cold blackness. Feet Crunch over frost, a Silhouette approaches In a long red cloak; I Cannot see his face, But I do see his smile, Warm like a roaring fire, And his eyes remind Me of sweet cups of Hot chocolate. His Hood hides him as he Approaches with a Scarlet cloak and Wraps it around my Shoulders. Come Inside, by the fire, he Says to me, sweetly, In a voice I know as Well as my very own. So I take the hand he Offers and follow him Inside; the cloaks come Off, and somehow his Presence warms my Blood, my bones, and Creeps into my very Soul, sending a smile To my lips. He looks To me with the fire Crackling in his eyes And says to me, Welcome home, my Snow beauty, and with His words I melt into The fire, and slowly he Makes me complete Once more. love poems anonymous |
