Painted

     I painted your skin
With watercolour blue
And sea green (always a favourite)
Just a slight bit of scarlet
                               To perfectly flaw you
And afterward you dipped me
                         In silver,
Saying,
           "it's better than gold."
     Though I couldn't keep
        A trace of gold
            From my smile
But you said it was
                       Lovely just the same
Since it went well
          With emerald sapphire eyes
And together we painted
          An imperfect sunrise
