Invitation

Come on inside.
I know you want to see,
Just whats in my mind.
Your eyes beg me.
You need to understand.
This invitation,
However,
Comes with a warning,
An urgent plea,
You may not accept what you find.
Its not what you want,
I know that for a fact,
But I invite you to come in.
Come and look
At the real me.
You hate to see it,
Its written on your face.
But you begged me to let you in,
Begged me for a taste.
I tried to protect you.
I knew you would run,
The second you saw.
But you requested an invitation,
And, like a fool,
I granted your wish.
