Diamond Knife

       Vision crystallizes
                        Too poetic for some
               And salt water tears
                                     form an ocean
the river of my soul never empties
as the tributaries of my eyes
    Slowly drain away
I see you through a layer
       of glass
                  but you cut through it
such a diamond
                though I suppose
        I'd dislike
                     a ruby
If only you could cut through me,
solid, impenetrable as I am
                            reach inside,
         take my soul
                       wash out the despair
        with acid rain
                   soothe the aches
            with rose petals
                                   and somehow
                       fill me again
