Dawn

A new sun creeps over the horizon
Each leaf of each tree seems to come alive
The most brilliant of greens
Dazzling like a sea of emeralds
How surreal it becomes
And how vivid in its purity
It seems strange to bear witness to such an event
The blades of grass take no notice
I am but an uninvited viewer
Walking in upon my host
And staying around to watch
Something as natural and unreal as the sun's first rays
