Bloodstained Snow

I cried, in hopes that you might see me
That my tears could reflect the starlight
And draw your attention to my damp cheeks
Then perhaps you would notice my quivering lip
And my broken eyes of shattered diamonds
Maybe then your footprints would flatten the snow
That held the moonlight of a thousand months
And they would lead to me
Your elegant, gentle hand would reach to touch my face
Cool and pale from the winter evening
The wetness of my pain would freeze on your bare fingers
Your arms would reach out to pull me up
Up, out of the scarlet bloodstained snow
You would be the one to hold me
To bandage my gushing wounds
And then I could finally be happy
In having someone who could heal me
