Were a thing of the past
Something great that I had
But would never have again.
And all along,
Right under my nose,
Was the best friend I had
Been so long searching for.
Why did I never see you?
You were always there
The words I needed to hear
Coming only from you.
When I was so discouraged
That I couldn't get up
From the glass-covered floor
You inspired me again.
Out of everyone,
You were the one
To encourage my dreams
When they were about to die.
When I was down,
You picked me up
And dusted me off.
You've given me new eyes
And because of you I see
A world I hadn't know before.
You've opened me.
There are times
When I want to talk to you
So badly that I start to cry
When I can't.
You're the best friend
I've got in this world.
I want to thank you
For all you've done for me.
It's funny, but even though
I've never seen your face,
I do believe I love you.
I pray you'll always be around
And if you ever need me
I promise I'll be there
You're my best friend
And I hope that never changes.
