| In the beginning before cognitive thought, the earth was dark and void....then there was LIGHT! "Huh...what....oh...Joshua..is that you?" A flashlight seared my face like the high beam of a truck. "Hello.. daa..deeee." "Oh..yeah...ummm...Joshua..hey..uuuhhh... you know last night was really hard. Mommy and daddy didn't get to bed until real late. Casey woke me up scratching and Holly threw up. I was wondering if you could wait until seven thirty for us to get up today?" Silence. "IT IS seven thirty." "Oh...yeah...well...uuuhhhh...you know Joshua, could you please let Mommy and me just sleep in until eight this morning. It would really help us out." Quiet. "Well, what about ME? What about MY BREAKFAST!" In the recesses of my brain, enough neurons had collected for a bad attitude to form. A decision point had been reached. Do I keep silent and be thought a grouch or speak out and remove all doubt? "OH... OKAY." A little spilled out. A silent prayer formed, "Lord, help me to be like you and not like myself. Help me to be pleasant and serve others." A blink of the eye....a turning of a corner.... and almost by accident I gave God enough room to work and do His thing. The day improved markedly.
