Westinghouse H-130

This Radio was most likly repair by Red Green as clues below show.


Filter cap was wired with an extension cord then covered in duct tape and attached with bale wire to speaker frame. Also value of the filter cap(s) was about 3 times greater than schematic and volts were 300 volts above correct value as well. Most if not all caps showed meltdown damage including the rockhard plastic ends of the "Solar" brand caps!

Before recap. You don't need any test equipment to see these caps are shot. Wonder where the original filter caps were mounted?

That's better!! After re-cap radio plays strong across the band. Filter caps are hiding inside black electrical tape. Ground floats on this chassis and if paint on cap gets scratched the cap body could conduct and let the smoke out! (don't ask how I know).
