| Portrait of a Woman by the Sea |
| Green eyes:: Footprints in the sand. Silence that encompasses the soul. Cloudless skies a reflection of the calm blue sea Seal cries fall on deaf ears. She sees me and I fear. Motionless, she stands- Hair billowing in the wind. Brown, the colour of the earth. Woman of mud, seaspray, grass: A rare angel walking barefoot on the beach. 'Come to me,' cries she; her voice a reflection of painful isolation. Above, the sky shatters and stars drop to the sea. ~Vicki Somers 29 August, 2001 |
