| Scene 2:: Mackenzie squeezed her eyes shut as a look of panic swept across her face. Jayde laughed at the expression on her face; how could she be that afraid of one little pin? The skirt had to be hemmed, and there were plenty more pins to come. Mackenzie opened her eyes and smiled weakly; it wasnt the pins that frightened her, it was the lecherous young man who was doing the fitting. Jayde didnt seem to think anything of it, but she was possessed of a confidence Mackenzie couldnt find within herself. But Jayde seemed to do everything a little differently then most, so why should it surprise her if she wasnt uncomfortable about having her skirt shortened. All finished, he stepped back to inspect his work. She really does have nice legs, Marcus, dont you think? Teddy laughed as Marcus raised a questioning brow. Come now, dont be so shy, go take a look in the mirror. Mackenzie stepped off the platform to model her new skirt. Surprisingly enough, she found that the length suited her well, and that the shortness wasnt as uncomfortable as she thought it would be. Jayde draped an arm around her friends shoulder, Dont mind Teddy, the old pervert, hes to be married in another month, and this is probably the last time hell even get to look at another woman. Marcus gave him a good-natured slap on the back. Finally taking the plunge? Shes pretty, Ill give you that, but God, what a shrew. Teddy assumed a haughty pose. Not a shrew, not a shrew. She just has a very refined taste; enjoys the finer things in life. Then why is she marrying you? Youre the most vulgar man Ive ever met. Jayde chuckled; Looks like Mackenzies got you to a tee, and after only one afternoon. Teddy nodded, And to think it took you two years to figure it out. Stick around her, Jayde, maybe itll rub off. He turned his attention back to Mackenzie. Off with the skirt, now, I want to have it done by the end of the day. Mackenzie nodded then disappeared into a dressing room. Dont look so disappointed, Marcus, he jested, therell be other times. Marcus shook his head in a gesture of complete exasperation. The shop bell rang and Teddy rushed back to the front of the store. Go and get lunch, children-eat, eat. Once you get back I should be done with your stuff. He fell into greeting a lavishly dressed young woman in a diamond necklace. Ah, darling, Ive missed you so much In the back room, the three laughed. |
