The Scream

Last Sunday, 22 August, One of the four versions of Edvard Munch's painting
"The Scream" was stolen at gunpoint, from the Munch Museet, along with a second painting, "Madonna."
It was the second time in 10 years that The Scream has been stolen. In February 1994, on the opening day of the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, the version on display at Oslo's National Gallery was taken and remained missing for nearly three months. It was ultimately recovered, undamaged in a hotel, about 65 kilometres south of Oslo.
