I Love Basketball!
In those pubescent years, my body shot long, too-tall, too thin, lanky, awkward and shy in the world. Ah, but then there was basketball! On the court, towering above those pert little girls, easy stride and reach, my mind and body was in a harmony as perfect as I had ever known. The ball was firm and girthy in my hands, it's skin mating mine, as I seduce it from my opponent. The organ of it slap the pads of my fingers, dibble small thrusts. And the rush, flush of heat when it whooshes through the hoop, leaving the momentary glow, puntuated by the hollow resonant bounce on glossy wood. And I spin and ready for another play, another basket, another climax.
It's a long-tall-girl thing.
