Koninginnedag (Queens Day)
On April 30th, all of the Netherlands, but especially Amsterdam, will be celebrating Queens Day, the greatest flea market and street party I have ever seen. This is partly because it is a 24 hour boisterous, free for all, and mostly because, it's so joyously benign. I can't think of another People who party with such abandon and hurt so few in the process.

While this observance is rooted in more serious event, it is still a celebration. QueensDay is a free market for goods, Freedom Day is a free market for ideas and opinions
