Summary: A visit to sickbay, where Malcolm is (once again!) injured and unconscious.

Comments: Although this was originally written for the Treksoap Jon and Mal (and their creators), it applies as well to the usual A/R relationship in which they're trying hard to be discreet about it all. But it's hard to see someone you love lying injured and not want to reach out to touch him.

It makes no sense to be envious of a dog--that he can show affection so openly, with no thought of implications or consequences. If tongues wag, no matter...so does his tail as he greets a man he's come to love.

There's no thought of holding back, no hesitation...just the gentle touch of a paw extended, or a sloppy kiss, heart in eyes.

I'll just have to let him speak for me, a living link conveying all I can't say aloud right now. My presence...warmth...need...and so much love.

C'mon boy, let's go see Mal.
