Mitch Reed's Birmingham Rollers
Ivan Hanchett (right) and myself at the Hawaiian Punch Loft
Like most pigeon fanciers, I got started as a child.  I remember my father having white kings when I was real little before we moved to Texas.  We moved back to Oregon when I was ten and that is when I got pigeons of my own.  I had a variety of breeds, with rollers being my favorite.  At about fifteen years old my interests had changed and I got out of birds.
After getting married in June 2002 and buying a house in October that same year, I decided that it was time to get back into the hobby.  I searched around for some local pigeon guys and eventually found Ivan Hanchett.  Ivan invited me on some of the local roller flies, which I didn't know even existed, and introduced me to the local roller fanciers.  After convincing them that I was serious about rollers, they gave me birds to get me started in the fall of 2003.
My current family of rollers is based on Ivan Hanchett's family and a little of Dave Szabatura's.
