Evaluation and Testing
Many states require routine testing of children at certain ages. Or perhaps you just like to see how your child is progressing over the year. Here are sites which sell the state tests, yearly evaluations, and SAT-prep type tests for your child. Check these sites out even if you live in a test-free state. They will give you a wealth of information as well as many free services.

Kaplan Testing This is a a fine site with testing information through the graduate level. Its focus is on older children particularly SAT preparation, but test information is available for younger children too.

This site has a strong focus on testing and information for younger kids. They have several free tests available online for you help evaluate your child to pick the right curriculum. They also carry copies of the state tests required by some states in order to homeschool.

1. Into the Arctic: Information and Educational Activities for Studying Climate from the Arctic System Science Data Coordination Center. This CD-ROM contains classroom activities focusing on climate studies and includes information and data from the Greenland Ice Sheet Project 2 (GISP2). Designed to offer instructional materials and activities for teachers and students, the unique feature of Into the Arctic is access to actual data collected and used by research scientists.
