OUR MUMS
Hi, I am Aine Dashwood I am the mum of Reebok, Shasta and Nike. I grew up in Ireland and have had border collies all of my life. In Ireland I would go to my uncles farm to work the dogs on the sheep. I moved to Canada when I was 12 years old with my family. My passion for border collies has never diminished.
I have now been involved in the sport of agility for about five and a half years with my borders. I love the sport and have had some unfortunate incidents that had kept me from attending trials for almost two years. Reebok is now trialing and doing exceptionally well for a dog that had never attended a class. When I got Reebok the last thing I wanted was a
RED AND WHITE. But her personality just made me melt and I had to have her.  I am looking forward to returning to active competition in the spring.
Hi, I am Joan McNutt, I am the mum of Justin, Nikita and Dancer. I grew up in Calgary, Alberta. I grew up with mostly toy and miniture poodles, and for a breif time an Alaskan Malamute ( our neighbors didn't like her as she tended to howl alot and my parents gave her to a friend on a farm). Since I was about 16 years old I had wanted a Siberian Husky or another Alaskan Malamute. I was very particular with the dog I wanted. It had to be a black and white with blue eyes and a mask. Through researching the two breeds I found that there wasn't too much of a difference between the two other than the size of dog. Since the Mal is not supposed to have blue eyes I chose the Sibe.  Hence came Nikita. Unfortunately what I didn't realise is that the markings of siberian change with age. Nikita had gone more of a dark grey with almost white eyes and no mask. With Dancer I wanted a grey and white male. Still hooked on a colour I ended up with a female because the one show quality male was a black and white. With Justin I learned, my only stipulation with him was he had to be a male and hopefully of show quality.
I have been out of the agility scene now for almost two years and am now looking forward to the 2003 trialing season to begin. I do still attend as a spectator and help out where needed but I'm looking forward to the day I can return to active competition
Aine and I on occassion teach agility classes from the novice level to advanced. We began our training with Paw-Z-Tracks and continued to learn as much as possible by attending classes through Cruizin' Canines and It's A Dogs World. We have encountered many different types of training and we use this when training other dogs. We have found that different ideas work with different dogs. We have three students now competing in A.A.C. agility trials and are looking forward to them also starting in N.A.D.A.C.

We travel to the trials with them to assist when and if needed. And to give them there own little cheering section. The dogs are all doing very well and we look forward to their next trial.
