| Although mild summers and
warm winters will make it easier for you to live with, worm bins
can actually be kept outdoors in many locations. Thermal control
is crucial, though, because the worms will die at temperatures below 33
degrees or above 95 degrees Fahrenheit. That usually means deep shade
in summer, with some kind of insulation in winter (perhaps heavy mulch,
partially burying your bin in the ground, or insulating/heating it, depending
upon what you're up against). The worms must be fed at least twice
a week, so put it in a place that's extremely convenient for you. |
