| Use vermicompost to fill
depressions and patch bare spots. Grade, level, and firm, then seed. |

| New
lawns: |
| Apply 1 inch of vermicompost
and work to a depth of 4 to 6 inches. Use 1 inch of vermicompost
to topdress lawn after grass begins to grow. |

| Established
lawns: |
| Topdress with 1/4- to 1/2-inch
of vermicompost during growing season. |
|
| Bare spots: |
| Replace 1 inch of old soil
with vermicompost. Keep moist until new grass becomes well-established. |

| Erosion
or extremely sandy soil: |
| Spade area. Cover
with at least 4 inches of vermicompost. |

| Clay
or extremely hard soil: |
| Apply 1 inch of vermicompost
to surface and then work to a depth of 4 inches. Cover any new surface
with 4 inches of vermicompost. |

| Thatch
control: |
| Every spring and fall, broadcast
1/4- to 1/2-inch thickness of vermicompost (85 pounds per 1000 square feet). |
