Reed Martin
Q. Name?
A. Reed Martin.

Q. Age?
A. 42.

Q. Occupation?
A. Father, Actor, Writer.

Q. Describe your personality in 5 words.
A. Someone else could say better.

Q. What is your favourite role to play in the shows you have done so far?
A. Herbie in GYPSY.

Q. And out of the four shows which is your favourite and why?
A. Actually five now.  I don't have a favourite.  It's sort of like asking me which is my favourite child.  I like them all for different reasons.

Q. What is such a nice guy like yourself doing in with a crowd such as the RSC?
A. Because I really like my boss.

Q. Have you always wanted to be an actor or did you want to be a fireman at the age of 4?
A. I took my first acting class age 20 and decided I wanted to become an actor shortly after.  Before that, I wanted to be a
professional baseball umpire.  Before that I wanted to be a journalist.  Before that, I wanted to be taking a nap.  Actually, I
     have gone full circle.

Q. What do you do before a show?
A. Eat dinner. Talk and stretch and warm-up.

Q. Do you get lots of fanmail?  Anything interesting?
A. I would say that we receive one or two letters a week.  The best thing I ever got from a fan was a stuffed Noahs Ark with all the
     animals for our first son.

Q. What are the differences between the UK and the USA audiences?
A. English audiences like to see us do silly things seriously, Americans like to see us having a bit of a twinkle in our eye.  But
     honestly, there isn't much difference.

Q. Do you have any strange or funny talents?
A. I've used most of them in the various shows:  accordion, juggling fire and cigar boxes, playing William Tell overture on my
larynx, fire eating, crossing one eye, balloon animals.  I haven't yet worked in nasal floss.

Q. Have you ever been unable to stop laughing while performing?  What did you do?
A. No I rarely laugh during a performance.

Q. If you could be a vegetable what would you be?
A. A beet.

Q. In your opinion what way should toilet roll be fed?
A. Over the top.. without a doubt.

Q. If you discovered a planet what would u name it and why?
A. Planet Janet because it rhymes.

Q. Do you have any bad habits?  And do any of the other RSC folk have any that you hate?
A. I have the bad habit of thinking I'm right all the time.  Some other members of the RSC have the bad habit of not thinking I'm
     right all the time.

Q. Have you anything to say to your fans?
A. Thanks for allowing me to have the greatest job in the world.

Q. How much do you actually know about Shakespeare?
A. A bit.

Q. Are you willing to take a test to see?
A. Absolutely!
