American Kennel Club (AKC) - This is the largest dog registry and the primary registry for purebred dogs in the USA.  This registry is very popular and offers all sorts of dog activities from conformation, obedience, and agility to herding, lure coursing, and the new rally obedience...and this club is still growing.  Check them out to see if there are any shows in your area.
Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA) - This is the parent club of the Australian Shepherd and the largest single breed registry in the USA.  They have a well kept stud book and registry program.  ASCA provides opportunities for competition in a variety of events.  Also, ASCA does allow all-breed and mixed breed participation in non-conformation events.  All dogs must be registered with a registry such as UKC, AKC, AMBOR, etc.  ASCA still functions independently and, though they work with other registries, are not affiliated with any all-breed registry.  The AKC affiliate for the Aussie is the United States Australian Shepherd Association (USASA).  The ASCA site offers large base of information on the Aussie such as history, breeding ethics, training, etc.

Dog Sense Unlimited - This is an obedience training school for dogs...but unlike many other dog training facilities, this one places an emphasis on your dog being an IMMACULATE member of society.  Though not competition-driven in their training philosophy, DSU has put many household pets out into the world that have gone on to compete because of what they've learned here.  Our dog Apollo was the first of our dogs to train here and he was changed from a timid, fearful dog to a very well mannered obedience competitor.  We MOST DEFINITELY recommend this school for your dog.  If you do what they say, your dog will be trained.
Flash Point Flyball Team - Aaahhh, flyball...the fast-growing, fast-going, high intensity sport in which two four-dog teams race in relay fashion to fetch a ball and return it to their handler.  All of our dogs are in flyball racing.  Currently, we race with Flash Point in Frederick, MD.  If you are looking for a fun sport for your dog(s), looking for a group of dog people that are fun to travel with, and/or you are in need of a new flyball home; check out the Flyball Homepage and look for a team in your area.
