Currently there are four books published by Rowling through Bloomsbury. We also have the CD audio recordings narrated by Stephen Fry (I LOVE him!) These are fabulous at night after our books to send the boys off to sleep. I also enjoy listening to them sewing my patchwork or quilting. The first book "The Philosophers Stone" introduces us to Harry and explains his past with the Dursleys - his Muggle (normal folk) aunt/uncle. And leads us into the magic world of Wizards with Hagrid on Harry's eleventh birthday, his start at Hogwarts. The second book "The Chamber of Secrets" is Harrys second year at Hogwarts, with Ron & Hermoine helping save the day from Voldemort. Third novel "The Prisoner of Azkaban" are the gangs summer and exciting challenges of helping Harrys godfather out of trouble. Fourth but not last is "The Goblet of Fire" which takes us to the quiditch world cup and into the tri-wizard tournament at Harry's fourth year in Hogwarts. Jan writes so descriptively and personally you feel like you are there in this magic world with the wonderful characters, and excellent places, exciting stories. Waiting with baited breath for number five to come out - GREAT STUFF! The people I meet that poo poo it seem to be the ones that need to read something this magic!! |
