| Being a teenager in the 80's meant that John Hughes had an influence on my youth. He made all the great films then (I HATE HOME ALONE ) "Breakfast Club" "Sixteen Candles" "Ferris Buellers Day Off" "Weird Science" "Pretty in Pink" are among my honoured VHS collection, and even my own kids love them. I'm sure its the way he revealed our own emotions through really great characters and very funny situations. Its certainly an awkward stage getting your hormones - It was the best and the worst of times!! He depicted that even really different personalities and backgrounds didnt change the fact that we all went through the same shit!! And lets face it, if your not partying when your a teenager, your missing out on that stage in your life that provides you with the license to. Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwold, Anthony Micheal Hall, Emilio Estevez, Alley Sheedy are all part of my history!! |
