Monster Name
The name of the card.

Type
Monster cards are categorized by Type. There are 20 different Types. Card Types affect each monster's ability to Attack and Defend.

Card Description
This is the effect of the creature. If the words are italicized, it means that the card has no special effect, it's basically just a little info about that specific creature. If the words aren't italicized, you refer to that kind of creature as an "Effect Creature", meaning, he has a special effect. The exact effects vary between cards.

Card Code
This is the card's secret password. You may enter this series of numbers into most of the videogames and the card will be added to your collection.

Defense
The Defense (DEF) score of the card.

Attack
The Attack (ATK) score of the card.

Card Number
This is how cards are numbered. An example, as shown, SDY-004. The SDY stands for Starter Deck Yugi, and the 004 means that's it's number four in that set.

Level
The level of the card. If this level is four or below, no special action is required in order to summon (unless otherwise stated). If the card is level five or six, you must sacrifice (Tribute) one monster that is already on the field. Also, cards that are level seven or higher require two sacrificing (Tribute).

Attribute
Monster cards are categorized by Attribute. There are 6 different Attributes. Card Attributes affect each monster's ability to Attack and Defend.
