"Mmm, that feels so good, Spike", Willow purred. "I wish I didn't have to go."
"So do I, Red. Why don't you stay a little bit longer." Spike pleaded.
"I can't, you know that Spike." All her defenses broke down as Spike smiled at her and gently kissed his way down her back, touching her most sensitive spot. "No fair, Spike. I'll, I'll staaaaaaaay just...just a little while longer. Ooh, a little lower, please?"
An hour later as they lay nestled in each other's arms, Spike kissed the twin holes on Willow's breast. "You are the sweetest thing I've ever tasted, luv."
"Talk about a double meaning, Spike." Willow giggled out.
"That too, luv. But I was talking about your blood. At least this bloody chip lets me bite you. Every time I do, I feel more bonded to you."
"I wish I could feel it too, Spike."
"You can, Pet, just drink some of my blood. It worked for me. Come on, I'm moist and delicious. Where have I 'eard that before?"
"I already know that, Spike, but the blood just doesn't sound appealing to me, besides there could be consequences, like when the vampire me came from that other universe. She was evil and skanky and kinida gay." Spike roared with laughter.
"Spike, that is so not funny. I'm being serious here."
"Sorry, Red, but that kind of goes along with being a vampire."
"What? Well, I mean I know you think you're evil, but lately I see you as more mischievous, you know impish."
"I'll have you know I have never been mistaken for an imp." Spike roared and put on his game face.
"Alright, alright, you're evil, you're the Big Bad and you deserve a kiss", Willow calmed him down by licking his vamp face. Blue eyes glazed over.
"Never forget it, Witch."
"I won't. Then there's skanky thing. Besides me, you've been with Dru and as far as I know that's it, so you're not skanky."
"What about Harmony, Red." Spike interjected.
"Oh, right, hey that does make you skanky!" Willow hit Spike with her pillow.
"Good point, Pet. But being with you has made me a changed man, Red." Spike replied as he explored her body with his mouth.
"Mmm, that's good, Spike, but no changing the subject. What about the gay part? You're not gay are you? You and Angel never?" Willow asked hesitantly as she furrowed her eyebrows.
"You have got to be joking, Pet. After all the times we've made love during the past few months and you think I'm gay? And even if I were there is no way in bloody hell that I would ever sleep with Peaches. As far as gay vampires, that's not part of the package."
"You mean I'm gay?" Willow gaped.
"Not exactly, Red. You definitely aren't holding anything back when we're together, so you must be enjoying yourself."
"You can say that again, Spike. I love being with you."
"Same here, Red. Being a vampire just intensifies feelings you already have. Like wanting to kill people or have power over them. Everybody wants that."
"So you're saying deep down I am attracted to women. Well, I've got a solution for that."
"There's no cure for being gay, Pet."
"Yes, there is. If those feelings ever come to the foreground, I'll just find a way to turn you into a woman, simple as that."
"You say the sweetest things, Red." Spike commented in an ultra-high feminine voice before he exploded in laughter.
"I mean it. I love everything about you. Not just that incredibly sexy body of yours. I love you, Spike." Willow added with a blush.
Spike lay there in shock. Over the past few months, they had both said that they cared for one another, but both had been too hurt in the past to tell the other that they loved them. Until now. Because of the way Willow treated him and through the bond, he had often felt that she did love him, but she wasn't sure. He wanted to be able to tell her that he loved her. She deserved to hear that. But after Dru, he couldn't say that, that and the fact that he had still been having dreams about the bloody Slayer. The Slayer. During his waking hours, he hated the bitch. He only tolerated her for Willow's sake. He tolerated all of the Scoobies for Willow's sake after she finally convinced them to give him another chance when they found out about the two of them. The rest of 'em weren't so bad once he stopped seeing their blood everywhere, but the Slayer. How could she be his Red's best friend? She certainly didn't deserve to be. That daft chit didn't see past Soldier Boy long enough to see when Willow was hurting over the wolf. That and she was always trying to boss him and everyone else around. Hell, even Chubs was smarter than the Slayer, it seemed. Oh well, he couldn't keep thinking about her. He had his Red. Shee was all he needed or wanted for that matter. No sense worrying over a nightmare like eww shagging the Slayer. An overwhelming feeling pulled him out of his thoughts. He was in pain. But why? No, it wasn't his pain, it was Willow's. He turned to her, but she was gone. I'm so bloody stupid. You idiot. Here she just told you she loved you and you start obsessing over the damn Slayer without even giving Red an acknowledgement. Plus, it's daylight. Now what are you going to do? Spike threw a chair against the wall and started pacing. Only a few more hours till nightfall.
Willow hurried up the driveway to her house. Her parents luggage was already outside the door.
"Oh, Willow, thank goodness, you're here. We thought you wouldn't make it in time."
"Oh, I'm sorry, Mom, I got held up. Where's Dad?"
"Right here, honey. Held up, huh, no doubt by that bum you've been socializing with lately."
"He's not a bum daddy. He's someone I care a lot about."
"He doesn't even have a job, Willow, what kind of future is that?"
"I told you, he doesn't need a job, he's more of a free spirit."
"Free spirit, huh, you mean freeloader."
"You are to stop seeing him today."
"No! I won't! I love him."
"Does he love you?"
"I...I don't know."
"Well, if he hasn't told you dear the answer is no."
"Mom, you don't know that. He's just shy about expressing his feelings."
"Have you told him that you love him?"
"Ye...Yes."
"And what was his response?"
"Mom, I don't really think..."
"Willllooow."
"Well, he didn't have one, but I'm sure he will."
"Enough Willow! A man who can't say it doesn't mean it. I want this 'relationship' called off today, that's what we expect to hear when we call you from the hotel. Goodbye, dear, we love you and we just want what's best for you. You can do better than this 'man'." He kissed the top of her head and disappeared with her mother into the car.
Willow slid along the bottom of the now closed door in a puddle of tears. Love wasn't supposed to be this complicated.
Spike hurried over to Willow's house. His unintentional dismissal of her must have hurt her more than he thought. Through the bond, he felt like he was in agony. He pounded on the door, then took a step back when he saw the state she was in. Tears were running down her face. It seemed she must have been crying the entire time since she'd left. She looked up at him with big questioning green eyes. He pulled her into a fierce hug.
"Hush, luv. Please forgive me. I didn't mean to act like that. I was just thinking so much about us I forgot about us, you know."
"What? Oh, Spike, that's not why I'm crying"
"It's not, what is it then, Red?"
"It's my parents."
"What'd they do, give you the third degree about dating me again, huh."
"No, it was a hundred times worse than usual, Spike, they ordered me to stop seeing you."
"Why those bloody bastards! How dare they...who do they think they...expecting you to just...when I get this chip out I'm rip their throats out!"
"Spike! Stop it! Those are my parents!"
"Parents, that bloody pair are not your parents, Red, not the way they treat you. What are you saying, Willow, that you're actually going to go along with it. Finally decided you can do better, huh? Is that it? You're finally leaving, huh? Damn you!" He got angrier with every word as he shook her violently.
"Spike, of course I'm not saying that. I'm saying I love you and we'll get through this. I just need you to be here for me right now.." Willow pleaded.
"I'm sorry, pet, I will be, shush, everything will be alright" He pulled her into his arms and held her close. "Why don't we talk about what when going to do when your classes let out next week. I've got lots of ideas". He said luridly.
"I'll bet you do..."
Willow sat up with a jolt, something was wrong, so wrong she knew her world had just come crashing down.
A week later...................
Poor Red. She was hurting so much in the week since her parents' plane crashed. He didn't know how to help her. She felt so guilty over her last conversation with him. Argument actually, he knew that deep down she blamed him. He just hoped it was only temporary. She was so upset. She didn't eat and she didn't sleep and she had gotten so pale, she could have been mistaken for a vampire. He was worried when her family's lawyer called and said Willow would have to go to Europe to clear up some legal matters. Her parents had been sent back for burial, and being a vampire, he couldn't even be there for her since it was during the day, but he felt her agony through their bond. There was no way Spike was going to be able to get on a plane and go with her, due to his sun allergy. None of the Scoobies were availablee because of some new demon in town. Then Tara volunteered to escort Willow. Spike had always sensed something off about her, but assumed it was just because she was so needy, especially around Red. He had even started to smell arousal from Tara whenever she was around her. He didn't worry though, Willow didn't seem to notice and from all the shagging he and Red had done, he kneew she was pretty well satisfied. Besides, all that mattered now was that Willow wouldn't be alone while she was so upset.
He lovingly held her hand as they drove to the airport. She looked over at him and smiled, reassured. She was so beautiful. He couldn't bear to let her go. She meant everything to him. After Tara boarded, he turned to Willow. He reached out his hand to caress her cheek. "Red, I have ot tell you something. I...I love you. I always will. Hurry back to me."
"I love you too, Spike, always. Never doubt that. I'll be back as soon as I can." She kissed him passionately. Then he hugged her as if he were trying to squeeze out her life force. They mouthed 'I love you' to each other. Then Willow turned her back to board the plane. Spike watched her go. He pressed his hand to the glass, until the plane took off. Then, he too, wiped tears from his eyes. He chest tightened. He couldn't believe his Red was gone. He would miss her so much, her laugh, her smile, her warmth, her blood. Her blood. He hadn't even considered the effect Willow's leaving would physically have on him. He had already gone a full week without her blood, but at least then he still had Willow. Now....
