NEW LINKS ON NEW AGE RACISM AND ANTI-SEMITISM
Many New Agers who appropriate Native American spiritual beliefs combine it with Anthroposophys Racialist Ideology. It's important to understand what Steiner and his contemporary proponents stand for in order to recognize it in the New Age. A common misconception promoted by the New Age is that the four colors or the medicine wheel stand for the "four races". This ideology comes form Rudolph Steiner, it has absolutely nothing to do with any indigenous belief. The racist belief prevelant in the New Age that Native American's spiritual "karma" is to go extinct, comes directly from the racist ideology promoted by Steiner.

U.K. Skeptics: David Icke and New Age Anti-Semitism
"There is a further, more insidiously damaging instance of where metaphor has been seen to be used inappropriately. Ickes repeated use of reptilian and alien symbolism was at one stage a cause for concern for ethnic minority groups, particularly Jewish, who believed that Icke was hiding his true anti-Semitic agenda. No action has since been taken when they realised that Icke did really mean reptiles. However, although Icke strongly denies any anti-Semitic inclinations, one should be aware of the company he keeps and the claims he has made. Canadian contacts and tour organisers, including Joseph Duggan, owner of Strong Eagles Productions, and Tom J. Kennedy of The Preferred Network have right-wing, anti-Semitic leanings. In his self-published second book, And the truth shall set you free, Icke repeated his belief, both in the Tsarist-forged Protocols of the Elders of Zion, and that a Jewish clique was behind the Two World Wars and the Russian Revolution. In the same book he also denounced the Nuremberg Trials as a calculated exercise in revenge and manipulation."

Secret Rulers Of The World - David Icke, Lizards and Jews

"David Icke, The Lizards And The Jews", broadcaster and journalist Jon Ronson encounters one of Britain's most infamous media figures as he continues his search to uncover the truth behind who - or what - is really controlling the world. Tonight Ronson joins David Icke on a lecture tour that takes the ex-sports broadcaster headlong into controversy as his extraordinary views dismay his detractors and inspire his audiences, providing a fascinating insight into extremists - and how the public responds to them. David Icke was once the most ridiculed man in Britain after declaring on The Terry Wogan Show that he was the Son of God. But he has now resurrected his career and is an internationally successful conspiracy investigator who lectures to packed houses world-wide. His latest theory is that the ruling elite are genetically descended from a race of 12-foot blood-drinking, shape-shifting lizards. But when Icke says lizards does he just actually mean lizards, as he steadfastly maintains? Or does he, as a powerful coalition of prominent Jewish groups claim, mean Jews? Ronson witnesses the media circus that ensues from Icke's tour of Canada. The Anti-Defamation League (ADF), the world's most powerful Jewish defence organization, and a coalition of leftist campaigners strongly oppose Icke's tour. The ADL believe that 'lizard' is code word for Jews, but Icke vehemently denies this. They point out that Icke has many followers on the extreme right. The hardcore neo-Nazis Unit Combat 18 once attended a lecture of his in London and gave him a glowing review in their newsletter. Old anti-Semitic cartoons from Eastern Europe portray Jews in a lizard-type way. Is this just coincidence? In Vancouver, a coalition of prominent anti-racists call an emergency anti-Icke meeting. One member comments, "Above all, I think David Icke represents a political threat, because his writings are anti-Semitic." Efforts are also made by protestors to have Icke deported and his book seized and incinerated under Canadian Hate Crimes Legislation."

The New Age and Karl May
The Swastika and the Nazis: The Karl May Connection
Hitler's Diaries showed a bizarre admiration for the Apaches.
"Old Shatterhand had a penchant for butchering redskins, especially the wicked Ogellallah Indians who were just like Jews: Thievish, cunning, lying,
cheating, devoid of all virtues and completely unlike the noble savages, the Apaches."

International Review Psycho-Analysis Volume 1 1974 The Development of an Obsessional Paranoid Delusion by Ernest A. Rappaport
"May, who had never been to America, invented a hero named Old Shatterhand, a white man who always won his battles with Native Americans, defeating his enemies through sheer will power and bravery. Young Hitler read and re-read every one of May's books about Old Shatterhand, totaling more than 70 novels. He continued to read them even as Fuerer. During the German attack on the Soviet Union he sometimes referred to the Russians as Redskins and ordered his officers to carry May's books about fighting Indians."

Books and Authors: Karl May
"In his diary, Spandau: The Secret Diaries (1976) Albert Speer mentions, that Hitler would lean on Karl May as proof that 'it was not necessary to know the desert in order to direct troops in the African theater of war... it wasn't necessary to travel in order to know the world.' According to Speer, 'Hitler was wont to say that he had always been deeply impressed by the tactical finesse and circumspection that Karl May conferred upon his character Winnetou. ' Such man was the very model of a company commander. Hitler added that during his reading hours at night, May's stories gave him courage like works of philosophy or the Bible for others. He had attended May's fatal lecture in Vienna in 1912. In the middle of World War II May's Winnetou was printed in 300,000 copies to be delivered for German soldiers. For Martin Bormann Hitler told: "I used to read him by candle-light, or by moonlight with the help if a huge magnifying glass." (from Hitler's Table Talks , 1953). This admiration condemned May for some time to the fate of Richard Wagner, whose music wasn't publicly performed in Israel for years because Hitler had praised it."
The Nobel Savage Stereotype appealed to German Romanticism
May's Novels
"But in the late 1930s, zealous Nazi sycophants tried to give a new spin to the Winnetou novels. Old Shatterhand was puffed up as an Aryan Superman. Yankees became Jewish Yankees. But there wasn't much they could do to May's message of interracial brotherhood. Today, no one I've ever met thinks much of Klaus Mann's infamous 1940 "Kenyon Review" blast in which he labeled Karl May "the grotesque prophet of a sham Messiah (Hitler)."
The Swastika and the Nazis
"Karl May's books where Hitler became infatuated with the Swastika. The swastika was used by many North American Indians, and it frequently appeared in illustrations of May's novels."

German Who Brought Cowboys To the Rhineland Wins Fans in U.S.
"One who saw May that day in Vienna was Adolf Hitler, then a young painter. As a schoolboy, Hitler had discovered May and spent so many nights reading his books by candlelight that his already poor grades suffered, according to "Hitler in Vienna: a Dictator's Apprenticeship," an account of his early years by historian Brigitte Hamann. As an adult, Hitler kept May's books in each of his homes -- including his bunker in Berlin. From time to time, he reread them or lifted quotes from May for his speeches, such as his description of the ideal Teutonic type as a man "with muscles of iron and sinews of steel," a quote from one of May's four Winnetou novels. In World War II, despite paper shortages, he sent 300,000 Winnetou novels to German soldiers as recommended tactical reading. .
Experts argue about whether May was an early promoter of Nazi thought. His books have strong religious overtones, and their heroes are Indians -- hardly role models for Hitler's racism. But their simplistic distinctions between good and bad -- and May's worship of weaponry and willpower -- lent themselves to Nazi abuse. In addition, race plays a prominent role in the books. In the preface to one Winnetou novel, May predicted that all races would unite into one superior edelmensch, or noble human. The Nazis embellished this rich material with ideology of their own. To claim the popular Winnetou for themselves, for instance, they called him "a prototype of the Indian-Germanic race" in a preface to May's fourth Winnetou novel, "Winnetou's Heirs."
"In Karl May you find all the imperial and expansionist fantasies of the Kaiser Reich," says Reinhold Wolff, chairman of the Karl May Society in Germany. "He did exactly what best-selling authors do: They reflect the dreams of their times."
Nazi Swastika or Ancient Symbol?
"The Nazis, by taking
the swastika, annihilated the significance of the ancient symbol. Today,
the swastika is to most people a symbol of evil, a symbol of demise, and
a symbol of ruination. It is extremely depressing to find that although the
swastika is a symbol of life, and symbol of joy, it has been made a
symbol of evil, something the people of the ancient world never intended
it to be."
It's interesting to see who's trying to reclaim the Swastika: The Original Meaning of Swastika
FYI: Look who's attempting to deny that the Nazi swastika arose from cultural appropriation? This site links to Wovoca site, and claims that Germans are an abused minority and uses the term "White Nationalism"
The Raelians and other Nuage groups try to reclaim the swastika, also.

History of the Swastika Gallery Itr's very interesting to see what happens to a cultural artifact when it's appropriated. There is also a modern white supremacist symbol that resembles a medicine wheel. The site also mentions the modern day "Gay Nazis" Someone who is very confused put a swastika over the pink triangle symbol ???? (We're as puzzled as you are.) Cultural appropriatin is becoming increasingly more irrational.
