Spike (on the left) and Shaggy (on the right) joined our household in November or December of 1998. We had many strays in our neighborhood and several of us were trying to find homes for them before the cold weather set in. My grandmother took one. Two went to a farm. And several others found their way to different homes. The two that were left seemed to be the two that had been around the longest. I knew a storm was brewing and so I told the neighbors, if they would loan me some food and a litter pan, I would take them in till we could find homes for them. Well, the rest is history. They are here to stay...
Spike is such a baby, wants held all the time.
Shaggy is quite different. He won't let you pet him unless you are ready to go to sleep in the bed
Shaggy is coming around. He is wanting petted and held on the couch now.
Wow, times have changed. It's 10 yrs later and both cats are on my lap all the time. Something is wrong with Spike though, he's lost 4 lbs this past year. We'll find out later this week hopefully what it is. |
