NEW YEAR'S DAY MATINEE, HOSTED BY KEVIN PHILLIPS AND THE IT MEN

Speak Music presents "A New Year's Day Matinee", hosted by Kevin Phillips and The It Men. A grassroots celebration of music, culture and Canadian heritage will take place at the Gladstone Hotel Ballroom, 1214 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON - Jan. 1 at 4:30 pm. This New Year's celebration will feature guest performances by Ian North & Mr. Rick, Hotcha, Johnny Max, the Six String Nation Guitar and many more. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door and are available by calling SPEAK Music at 416.599.9079.
Two of Toronto's long-running music series - "The Ranch" and "Groovy Mondays" - join forces with Six String Nation to ring in the New Year with flair. Kevin Phillips (front man for the Ranch and his own group, The It Men) had the idea to "kick off the New Year by showcasing fresh new musical ideas with some of Toronto's finest musicians". Both the Ranch and Groovy Monday's artists will be woven between the feature performances, with an open stage following at 8 pm.
Also taking part will be the Six String Nation Guitar, courtesy of Jowi Taylor ("Global Village", CBC). A magnificent work of art, the guitar has been created from more than 60 pieces of material that are historically significant to our country's heritage. The guitar will be featured in various musical performances and on display for photo opportunities between sets.
