| HAMMERED OUT - 2006 SILVER HAMMER POETRY AWARD WINNERS | ||||||||||||||||
| THE 2006 SILVER HAMMER AWARDS FOR POETRY took place December 14 at the Casbah Lounge in Hamilton, Ontario.
There were 244 poems entered by 56 poets and the level of writing was very high, making final decisions difficult. With much thanks to the many entrants and our esteemed panel of judges (the widely published & award-winning authors Bernadette Rule, John Terpstra and Linda Frank), the awards went to: GRAND PRIZE WINNER (The Silver Hammer plus $250): Stan White (for "Lie and Listen") SECOND PRIZE WINNER ($150): Ellen S. Jaffe (for "Bosque Del Apache") THIRD PRIZE WINNER ($100): j.s. porter (for "so lightly here") HONOURABLE MENTIONS ($50 each): Susan McCaslin (for "In A Room Called Resurrection") j.s. porter (for "a sculpture the size of a cricket") John B.
