14th Annual Local Art Show - Erland Lee Museum - Hamilton , ON
This Stoney Creek heritage site, known for its pioneering women's movement, welcomes artists from across the region, as the 14th Local Art Show opens at 1:30 p.m. The show runs until Dec. 3.
Over 120 works of art from 40 local artists fill the Erland Lee Museum's carriage house. The art show, running since 1992, is designed to help support local art and women's history at the same time, as proceeds from any sales are split between the 1897 Women's Institutes' museum and the artists. One of the largest group contributors is the Womens' Art Association of Hamilton. Free Admission. Alice Crawley: Sixty Years of Art Making - Dec. 1 - Jan. 14 - Reception - Dec. 3 - 2 p.m. This retrospective exhibition features the sculpture of one of Niagara's most influential artists. Alice Crawley was a founding member of the Niagara Artists Company in St. Catharines and has been a mentor for several generations of artists.
