Caltha was established in 1645 by Mychal Avan of Avannar Lorddom. Lord Avan rose three of his trusted aids to Magistrate, and gave the city to them to govern while he busied himself with the Jenisian War. The Magistrates were Sullivan Savast, Dav Lupesk, and Strom Thorn.
Caltha was originally established as a port city which would act as an easy access supply route between Jit-Zahire and Jenin, as The Empire was fighting wars on each of these fronts. The City prospered for twenty years, but in 1655 an armed militia presented itself and the city fell into civil revolt.
It was discovered that the Magistrates were behind the uprising, due to what they felt were unfair tax penalties against their people, as well as unfair legal treatment. The Three were exiled from all Imperial lands, along with all of their retainers for their crimes, and Tull Valdymere of the Nighteyes Clan was raised to the status of Lord by Mychal Avan for uncovering the plot to revolt against the Empire. (These three would later found what is now known as "The City." )
QUICK FACTS:
* In 1915, the Caladorian Naval Air Corp began under the direction of Lord Varynd (Vair-End) Valdymere, and is lead by R.P. Rappaport.
* In 1917, the "Sand Blight" culled the populace, and many died including the Lordly family. Andys Valdymere, the youngest of three (a brother and sister) buried his family. Andys has yet to choose a bride, though each of the seven lorddoms has offered their children.
