| *Wake Up* I wake up to the same annoyance... The buzz-beep of that evil alarm. The reflection in the mirror the same appearance, Not an ounce of anticipation or charm. I drink the same brand of coffee And smoke my cigarette to a fast-paced clock. Grabbing my two dollar sunglasses to see, And stepping down the cracked, broken sidewalk. I smile the same meaningless expression, To the people I want to impress. Trying to land a cool impression, To get all the ladies to undress. I work the same wasteful post Waiting for time to pass. Unaware of what I need most. Lost in the modern compass. I visit the same bar for a few beers, And open the door to my humble domain. In the darkness, I cry the same dry tears, Because everyday is always the same. |
