| *The Ignorant Symphony* Billions of people scurry about Living their days in melancholy. Their lives pointless; their faith in doubt, What they think true is a grievous folly. They contradict themselves with science And worship an ancient tabloid. Hoping sorrow disappears with a new appliance, Thinking money & power will fill the void. Selling their freedom for a frozen dinner And placing greed higher than love. Blaming others & calling them sinners, As they slaughter everything they dream of. Tearing branches from the tree of knowledge? No...they use dynamite for that task. Building a church on the ground they pillage, Completely ignorant of the beauty they mask. More intolerance, their thirsty for blood... "Let's go to war over the price of oil." Praising a dreadful past they never understood, Millions starve as army food spoils. They'll never cease until we're all dead And the world is a desolate stone. Their stupidity will never enter their heads, And this world will finally be alone. |
