BARROOM BLUES
In 1970s Sam McMillen handled for a guy named Teach Cantwell who was known for his Blue Darters. Sam got some of the blues from him and then got some Minor Blues from Woody Woods. Sam took the two lines and crossed them and set a family of blues of his own. He would call them Barroom Blues. These are very good blues and can fight in any weapon. They have alot of bottom and are excelent in the gaff, they are extremly fast and are good in the long knife too. They come straight comb and dark legged. Every once in a while will get a pyle colored one which comes from the minor side.
MAGICLEG GREYS
In 1988 Laura McMillen was given a Joe Goode stag from Sam. The stag was yellow legged and had a green spot on his leg. A friend had told her that a yellow legged rooster with a green spot was conciderd voodoo to fight against in some countries and that they was called magiclegs. So she named the stag Magicleg. She had some Johnny Jumper hens that she had gotten from Sam also which was green legged. She crossed the stag with the Jumper hens and set a family she would call magicleg greys. The offspring was fought at 8 mths old in the gaff and long knife and proved to be very good fowl. These magicleg greys come medium stationed and have a very light bronze in their back. They are yellow legged and 90% have a green spot on the legs. These fowl have extreme power and are dead game and smart.
DIEHARD GREYS
In 1992 Sam McMillen had some Frost he had gotten from Bobby Milburn in the 70s and also had some Polecat greys from Bobby Lowe. Sam took the two families and crossed them together. The offspring was awesome and didnt lack anything. They are very hard to kill and so he named them the Diehard Greys.

They tested this line at Dibble pit in Ok and other tough small pits around SE Oklahoma. They was tested as young as 8 months old in the gaff and long knife. And proved to beable to hang with any cock in any weapon. These greys have alot of power and extremly smart and good cutters with alot of speed. |
JOE GOODE GREYS
In the 1970s Sam McMillen got a Joe Goode cock from Nate Rodella and a hen from Nates brother Lewis Rodella. That is how Sam got started with his Joe Goodes. They was yellow legged . From what I understand about the Joe Goodes some came yellow legged and some came green legged. The yellow legged ones being 3/8s hatch and 5/8s frost grey. The green legged ones being 3/8s frost grey and 5/8s hatch.
FROST GREYS
Mr.Frost was originally from Virginia and moved to Texas in the 1930s. He got a Madigan/regualar grey cock from Mr. Madigan. He bought three hens from Elmo Stone (irish greys to be of whitehackle and grey). Frost won a main against the Mighty Claibornes of Georgia. He whipped everyone in Virginia and was the only one that ever came close to beating Sandy Hatch in a main 8 to 6. These frost came white legged with white on their hackles and tail feathers . And are some of the best cutting greys ever made.
