The "new" civic is a 1992 CX hatchback! curb weight is 2094!! not too bad....
current project is getting the weight to *under* 2000 lbs.
the weight of the car when I bought it was 2225 lbs.!!
that is with a half tank of gas (~30 lbs.) and a stripped back end...
.

I have since done the following:
*removed A/C...36.5 lbs. (for sale....$170 shipped to you)
*removed windsheild wiper fluid....7.5 lbs. (almost full)
*removed passenger side mirror....2.5 lbs.
*removed some minor interior pannels....2 lbs.
*replaced stock wheels/tires....saved ~1 lb. ea. (but gained a ton of traction)
*replaced stock steering wheel....saved ~5 lbs. (and it removes!)

Anyway....curb weight adjusted with no gas is only 2139 lbs. right now...not bad.
that is with a full swap (only 1.6 liter though with ITR head, IHE w/ no cat)

I will post part weights as I go....if there is any interest, email me at
[email protected]

here is a pic of the car before I bought it......if I get bored enough, I will write all kinds of
information for you guys!!! ;-)
how to maximize your power to weight ratio! cheap speed!
     *rotational inertia
     *static weight loss
*many links to weights and good deals on the better parts
*lots of suspension setup ideas and setups....and more!!! lol... ;-)
