O
nce upon a time, in a fantasy world long, long ago, there once lived a hero. A boy with a fogotten past and a destiny to fulfill. With a sword in his hand, he set off into the world and embraced his destiny. There, he fought couragously along side the powers of all that was good. Under princess Zelda's word, he became known as the protector of time. But one day, out of nowhere, black clouds rolled in and a dark shadow was cast down upon Hyrule. Now he had a new quest; a quest to defeat the lord of evil: Gannondorf. The coming of the evil king set the age of the damned. People suffered under his wrath. In order to the defeat Gannondorf, however, Link had to obtain the master sword, so he did so. But something unexpected had happened. A portal opened in time, and Link was trapped in a time warp. Years had passed during the time he was in the portal, and when he stepped out, the world as he knew it was destroyed. He felt unease, but he was driven with courage and he knew that as long as he had the master sword in his hand, evil would be banished from the ancient land. Finally, the day of reckoning arrived. Link encountered Gannondorf. It was a clash of the light and the dark. This marked the end of an era, a time to set a new period of Hyrule; the time of victory and peace. Without hesitation, Link battled Gannondorf with all his might, but even the powers of the triforce piece he possessed just wasn't enough to defeat the evil lord. Near the brink of life and death, Link battled until he couldn't anymore. Blood soaked his face, one of his eyes was swollen shut... He gasped for air but was soon picked him up from the floor by a giant hand. He dangled in the air, moaning in pain while the king laughed manically. With a great thrust, Gannondorf severed Link's right arm; the arm that contained the triforce and wielded the mastersword. Link screamed and kicked his feet aimlessly as his arm was removed. He was then thrown to the floor motionless. Gannondorf hesitated for a moment, hovering over Link. He then raised a giant club over him and gathered energy for the last strike. But like a flash of lightning, Shiek appeared out of nowhere! She fought him with furry and rage with the avengence of Link in mind. But like Link, her fate seemed to be the same. Gannon pinned her neck against the wall, strangling her. She hung there, helplessly, staring at the eyes of death. She couldn't hold her disguise anymore. With a flash of light, she returned to Zelda, princess of Hyrule. Gannondorf was astounded by Shiek's true identity. With a dark, muffled voice, Gannon said "Stupid girl. You should know better than anyone that you cannot defeat me." Zelda looked at him, then said "Maybe I can't, but the powers of the gods can!" and with that, the triforce of wisdom shone brightly on the back of her palm. Gannon reacted with a start, then whirled around to see the mastersword flying at him and Link's resonating limb holding it. Within an instant, the sword pierced gannon in the heart and went right through him. Gannon screamed with rage as the power of the master sword supressed his power and killed him. Zelda dropped to the floor infront of Link and their eyes met. With Link's last breath, he said "Thank you, Zelda. Let there be a future for these people... Let there be... peace..." and with that, Link exhaled his final breath. Zelda reached out for her love, but couldn't reach him. "LINK!!!" she yelled with tears running down her face. Her vision then blurred and she blacked out.
The day after the bloody battle between the Hero of time and the King of Evil, Link's funeral took place. Everyone from all over the country traveled to the palace to attend the tragic ceremony. He was carried in the finest casket made with gold and decorated in flowers. The fine sheets inside were made of green fabric which represented his home, the Kokiri Forest. The funeral was held and the whole entire country bowed their heads to the deceased hero. His casket was carried up to the alter. Zelda peered over into the casket and two tears rolled off her face and onto Link's. "Thank you... Link..." she then turned her attention to the thousands of people infront of her. "People of Hyrule! Let there be a future for this land! Don't take it for granted because it probably won't be here forever! Appreciate what your hero has done for you! May peace forever reign in Hyrule!!" and with that, the people then cheered with joy and pride. Over their heads shone the bright blue sky. For once in a long time, a ray of hope gleamed down brightly upon the blessed land. Hyrule was saved and open to a bright future and the gates of time were sealed shut until the end of time.
The End
