HEAD ADMIN .PINKIELEE.
1: To help us to play in the spirit of the game ON THE BALL IN HAND IF YOU FOULED A SHOT some player's don't use this. you may use free ball if you want too ,and their will be no harrassing of a player if she/he does so. we want to keep rules as simple as possible i only ask that you do try to pot each ball without snookering intensionally. ty
2: Some think it is ok to purposely foul to gain an advantage, this is bad sportsmanship and is not to be encouraged, please play the game as it is intended to be played a game of skill and strategy and try to find a way out of the situation your in not just pocket the white for example.
3:POOLandSNOOKER: Unless told different by the hosting TD all tournament tables are to be set at 1 min open and rated.
4: During a tournament the firsts named player should ensure they occupy the top seat so as to break.
5: There will be a 8 min timer for those not starting a game, but there will be no rematch for disconnecting once the game has started, if you disconnect you will loose, should gamedesire cause a problem like freezing the game where your opponent has no cue etc then both players should agree to stop the game and restart it DO NOT JUST LET TIMER RUN OUT TO GET THE WIN IF YOUR OPPONENT HAS STATED HE HAS NO CUE.
6: Should a team member leave during a 2v2 or a 3v3 then they will get 3 days in the box, for a first offence and an extra day for each offence after that, the players that's left in a 2v2 or 3v3 will have the choice to either drop the team with no penalty to themselves or play for both players, should they choose to play they will be allowed 3 min table for each games as will have to play both at same time, should they win one and lose one the decider will be on 1 min table as normal, the first named person on the team will be designated as the captain, this is the person the rest of the team should report to not the hosting TD then the captain will announce the result of the team to the hosting TD.
7: It is a requirement of this league that you say gl at the start of any league/tournament game and gg at the end of the game, but please do not say it until the last ball has dropped or unless you intend to resign as it can be classed as putting your opponent off, if you are resigning do it at the start of your turn not whist your opponent is building a break.
8:The TD decision is final in any tournament and you should not argue in the lobby or send abusive private messages, if you feel the TD has made an incorrect decision, then try to resolve it with the TD remaining polite at all times, if you cannot resolve the issue then approach any of the HTD team and ask for help in the matter.
9: Should any of our members leave and set up a league/room of their own and you go to be a staff member there you will be stopped from playing in pot_the_black, this is needed sadly as a precaution as in the past we have had to many problems with poaching. Should we see evidence of any kind of poaching you will be banned for life without further consideration, this includes approaching our members whilst playing in other rooms and on chat services like msn etc.
10: There has been a lot of problems with people joining tourney tables part way through a game or jumping on and off tables, this is off putting for some players and must stop. It will now be a requirement that if you want to watch a game you join at the beginning of the game not when you have finished your game and the other is part way through. Should you leave the table for any reason d/c etc please do not rejoin it once off stay off.
11: To try to keep the ladder as fluid and active as possible and not stagnant at the top it was decided there will be a 3 day period of inactivity then top ten players will drop automatically, also to help others get to play the top players and advance up the ladder. If you receive a formal challenge and both players are in the room this game should be completed before you play any other games or join a tournament, if it is noticed that you are avoiding these challenges you will incur a penalty of being dropped 10 spaces, there is no appeal to this and it will be enforced.
12: It has become a fact that some people leave a swiss tourneys because they want to play elsewhere, as this is unacceptable it has become necessary to make it a rule that if you leave any swiss tourney you will be boxed for 3 days, if you continue this a second time there will be an extra day each time, if you want to leave you must take the losses.
13: There will be an 8 min timer at the start of a round if you are not in the room or fail to join the table you are supposed to be playing on, this is only applicable for the start of a round, should you get disconnected for any reason there will be no rematch and you will take the loss.
CHALLENGES FOR TOP 10 PLAYERS
To keep this ladder as active as possible, all cases rules apply to formal challenges with a few of our own enhancements, cases rules can be found at http://www.igl.net/faq/index.php?p=2
In addition to these rules, it has become apparent that there are loop holes that can be exploited so to help all top 10 players advance should they wish to we have introduced the following extra rules.
Any top 10 play can ask for a ladder game (not counted as a challenge) to ask for a challenge it must be worded in the lobby clearly that you want to challenge someone above you within the range of 5 positions above your rank, (number 10 can challenge number 9 to number 5 etc), so an example would be cybercafeman asks doug.47.usa to accept a challenge match, if you are asked to play a challenge game it should be accepted as soon as it is practical to play it and the loss to be reported by the looser in the normal way (you can not challenge a player lower in rank than yourself).
Excuses like not on form, playing in another room will not be accepted, also if you say you do not have time as going then you should not be found playing in any other room on the site, as if you cannot play the challenge you should not be logged into gamedesire (this applies to challenges only).
The formal challenge system is there for cases where you cannot find the person in the room to ask for a match and to be used as a means to contact that person.
Should it become apparent that you are avoiding defending your position on the ladder by refusing to play the person directly below you then you will be dropped 10 rungs for each offence, persistent offenders will face stiffer penalties like a boxing etc.
These rules only apply to the top 10 players anyone outside this can play as normal and not have to accept and should not issue any challenge.
We want this ladder to be fluid and all have the chance to gain as high a position as they are able it is not about how long any one player can stay at the top by using loop holes in the system.
