THESE ARE THE BASIC RULES OF SOME OF THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF GAMES WE PLAY IN SNOOKER TOURNAMENTS.

THE HOSTING TD WILL TELL YOU IF THERE IS ANYTHING ELSE YOU NEED TO KNOW.

Ascending balls tourney can be (s/e d/e or swiss)

All rounds start with yellow after a red, once someone pots it legally you both move on to green then brown etc.

If you pot the black and still some reds left you start at yellow again, you must select the right colour even if snookered or you lose and must resign.

After all reds gone then colours as normal.

After potting the legal colour please state the next colour to be taken so no confusion.

Colour swiss (parlour tables)

At the start of each round the TD will select a colour ball, that is the only colour you can go for after a red or free ball even if snookered on it.

If you select any other colour than the one the TD nominates you lose and must resign.

After all reds are gone colours are taken as normal.

Pool style (s/e d/e or swiss)

This is played like pool the winner is the one who pots the black ball when no other balls are on table regardless of the final score.

If you make your opponent replay for a miss only do it twice on third time you must accept the shot.

If you pot the black at any other time during the game you lose and must resign.

You may select and hit the black if it is the only colour you can get to or want to try for a snooker but must NOT pot it.

Breaks tourney (s/e d/e or swiss)

In this game it is the one who got the highest break that wins.

The colours are included so if you have highest break of the game at 26 and your opponent clears the colours for 27 they win.

Should you tie on your highest break achieved then it will be the overall winner according to points that wins.

Odd n evens (swiss)

If you are told odd colours you must always pick green/blue or black after a red, if evens you must pick yellow/brown or pink after a red.

If you pick the wrong value ball you will lose and need to resign.

First named is always odds.

Example: cyber v sam cyber is odd sam is even so cyber must pick green/blue or black while sam can only play yellow/brown or pink.

Once on the colours game as normal.

Reds Only (s/e d/e or swiss)

In this game you pot a red as usual then select any colour of your choice but you must not pot that colour or you lose.

You can only pot a colour in the normal sequence once all reds are gone, if you pot a colour that you have not selected then it is a normal foul and you carry on.

No Fouls (s/e d/e or swiss)

As the name says in this tourney you must not foul in any way, if you foul you lose so must resign the game.

This applies to any type of foul even if on the break, so please remember you could lose on your first shot.

RCR (s/e d/e or swiss)

This game requires honesty from players, the idea is you cannot build a big break but concentrate more on positional play

You can only pot a red a colour then a red, (if more than 1 red drops while potting your red that is fine) after which you select your second colour but must not pot it.

If you pot more than 1colour in this sequence you lose so the maximum break you could make is 9 (red/black/red unless you pot more than 1 red at a time) the sequence must be red (regardless how many drop) colour then red again after that you must play safe or a snooker, once the reds are all gone then colours in normal sequence.

9break (s/e d/e or swiss)

This is very similar to the above tourney with a major difference, the maximum break you can make is 9 total, IE: red, black, red = 9 then you must play safe or a snooker, or another sequence would be red, yellow, red, yellow, red, yellow = total 9 points, if you pot 3 reds then select and pot black you would lose as total is 10 points, if more than 1 red drops and takes your break above 9 you lose.

Once all reds are gone the colours taken in normal sequence and the 9 points are not adhered to so you could clear up on the colours.

Selected pocket game (s/e d/e or swiss)

The TD will choose a pocket as u look at table on screen top left (by green ball) top middle or top right same with bottom.
Once the pocket is chosen after potting a red you select your colour as normal but can only pot it in the TD selected pocket.
If you pocket it in any other pocket you loose and must resign game.
After no reds in sequence colours are normal in any pocket.

There can also be 2 variations to this game
1: If TD chooses it can be that even the colour sequence has to go in selected pocket also so only reds are free for any pocket.

2: It can be incorporated with a single colour game so TD may choose yellow ball only after red and in bottom right pocket only, this can also be all colours after reds have gone or just theTD selected colour then colours in normal sequence in any pocket.

Td must state if colour sequence is selected pocket or normal in all variations.
