I am 34 years old and have been playing guitar since I was 15.
I started out playing classical and attended college immediatly after high school in hopes of becoming a teacher.
After failing miserably (due mostly to my lack of drive and discipline) I played rock star for a few years. Now I am a balding, overweight prior rock guru who's major rock accomplishment will probably be winning a few hundred dollars on some local music quiz show that three people will watch.
